Carpet & Flooring Supply & Installation

 

1. Definitions

“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our” refers to Luke Carter T/A Carters Carpets & Flooring

“Customer”, “you”, “your” refers to the person(s) accepting our quotation.

“Works” refers to the supply and/or installation of flooring as detailed in the quotation.

2. Quotations

  • All quotations are provided based on information available at the time of survey or discussion.

  • Unless otherwise stated, quotations do not include uplift and disposal of existing flooring.

  • Unless otherwise stated, quotations do not include moving furniture or appliances.

  • Unless otherwise stated, quotations do not include door trimming or adjustment of doors.

  • Quotes are valid for 60 days from the date issued and may be withdrawn after this period.

  • Any additional works requested after acceptance may be charged separately.

3. Deposit & Payment

  • A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking.

  • The deposit secures the agreed installation date and covers the cost of materials.

  • The remaining balance is due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • We reserve the right to delay or reschedule work if payment terms are not met.

4. Booking & Cancellations

  • Once a booking is confirmed and materials are ordered, the deposit becomes non-refundable.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us as soon as possible.

  • Cancellations made after materials have been ordered may result in charges to cover costs incurred.

5. Access & Preparation

  • Customers must ensure clear and safe access to the property on the agreed fitting date.

  • Rooms should be emptied of furniture unless furniture moving has been specifically included in the quote.

  • Doors may need trimming following installation; door trimming is not included unless stated.

  • We cannot be held responsible for delays or incomplete work caused by restricted access or unprepared areas.

6. Uplift & Disposal

  • Uplift and disposal of existing flooring, underlay, gripper rods, or debris is not included unless clearly stated in the quotation.

  • Where included, disposal will be carried out in accordance with local regulations.

7. Subfloor & Unexpected Issues

  • All flooring installations are subject to the condition of the subfloor.

  • If unforeseen issues are discovered (e.g. damp, rot, uneven surfaces, loose boards), we will inform you as soon as possible.

  • Any additional remedial work required will be quoted separately and must be approved before proceeding.

8. Installation Dates & Delays

  • Installation dates are agreed in good faith but may be subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g. material delays, illness, severe weather).

  • We will always aim to provide reasonable notice and rearrange at the earliest opportunity.

9. Materials

  • Flooring colours and samples may vary slightly from manufacturer batches and showroom samples.

  • Once materials have been ordered, they cannot usually be returned or exchanged unless faulty.

​

10. Damage & Liability

  • Reasonable care will be taken during installation.

  • We are not responsible for pre-existing damage to floors, walls, skirting boards, doors, or furniture.

  • We are not liable for minor marks or scuffs that may occur during normal fitting work.

11. Guarantees & Aftercare

  • Installation workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion.

  • Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied materials and are subject to their terms.

  • The workmanship guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, water damage, structural movement, or failure to follow care instructions.

12. Complaints

  • Any issues must be reported within 7 days of completion.

  • We will always aim to resolve problems fairly and promptly.

​

13. Ownership of Goods

  • All supplied materials remain the property of Carters Carpets & Flooring until paid for in full.

​

14. Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

​

15. Acceptance

  • Acceptance of a quotation, payment of a deposit, or confirmation of a booking constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
